Sr. Engineering Manager, Ad Code

Raptive is hiring a Sr. Engineering Manager to help continue to build out our Ad Code product and team. You will lead a team of software engineers and grow the team in a sustainable manner. You will mentor and coach individuals, helping them develop personally and professionally.
You are someone who can lead a team to develop high-performance JavaScript libraries while navigating browser complexities. You are able to interpret business requirements and deliver solutions that help our publishers effectively monetize their traffic. You are a player-coach, helping your team grow but also actively participating in the software delivery process.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and manage the engineering team responsible for optimizing our Prebid.js implementation, driving revenue wins through optimization and experimentation.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, coordinating with product and engineering teams to plan features, define requirements, and make delivery estimates.
- Foster a data-informed engineering culture by collecting and analyzing key metrics to validate outcomes and rapidly iterate based on results.
- Manage a high-performing engineering team, with responsibilities including hiring, coaching, and career development.
- Build and maintain a positive team culture rooted in collaboration and psychological safety.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of our codebase to provide informed technical guidance to the team.
- Perform consistent code reviews to ensure adherence to high-quality standards and best practices.
- Act as a proactive problem solver by removing blockers and enabling team productivity.
The skills and experience you bring to the job:
- 5+ years as a high-impact IC in JavaScript-heavy environments
- 3+ years of engineering management experience
- Broad and deep experience in designing and implementing JavaScript-based libraries and frameworks (i.e. not only web interfaces).
- Proven track record of driving project delivery end-to-end, including cross-team collaboration, refining requirements, sizing work, setting milestones, and risk mitigation.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to weigh technical trade-offs, budget implications, and long-term maintainability.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of agile software development practices and methodologies.
- Ability to review and contribute code back to the open source community.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement to delivery capabilities, including speed, quality, and reliability.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000-$220,000. The range provided is Raptive’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation that isn’t included in the posted range.
