Contract UI/ UX Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to join our team on a contract basis, with the possibility of contract-to-hire. 

In this role, you will focus on designing visually engaging and intuitive interactive elements for upcoming consumer-facing web applications, both desktop and mobile. You will work closely with our product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create interfaces that end users will find intuitive and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design visually compelling and intuitive interactive user interfaces for desktop and mobile web applications.
• Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and detailed UI designs to effectively communicate design concepts.
• Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure visual consistency across all application areas.
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design quality.
• Avidly follow industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our visual design practices.

The skills and experience you bring to the job:

• Ability to do great work at a fast pace
• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer working on large-scale consumer applications. We’ll ask you to show how you made a meaningful difference in applications that delight many millions of users.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in visual design, interaction design, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Track record of leveraging UX/UI to improve visitor engagement metrics 
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Experience with responsive design and mobile-first approaches.
• Excellent understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. Able to synthesize input and feedback from diverse stakeholders, actively seeks common ground, and constructively works to design a great product. 
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Aware of accessibility considerations
• US-based with the ability to work during standard business hours.
• Experience in a startup that successfully scaled, or in a similarly fast-moving, iterative environment, is a plus.
• Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment with remote colleagues

The base pay range for this position is $75.00-$90.00 per hour. The range provided is Raptive’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities.
