SVP, Corporate Communications

Remote - Full Time

Raptive is seeking an SVP, Corporate Communications, to drive the development of holistic and strategically driven communications and narrative for the company. This role will report to the CMO and be directly responsible for devising and implementing a communications plan with a keen eye for raising our brand awareness, corporate profile, and reputation with multiple audiences, including the industry, creators, partners, media, advertisers, consumers, and employees.

The SVP of Corporate Communications will be the primary interface with our agencies and the media and be a strategic partner, collaborating with the Raptive executive and leadership team. They will quickly develop a deep understanding of the core business units and be able to shape their communications strategies to achieve their objectives, including engagement with the press and across the broader media landscape.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications platform and plan that drives Raptive's narrative, sharpens our positioning and brand identity, increases the exposure of our key value propositions, and advocates for independent creators/publishers across organizations and regulatory bodies.
  • Working in partnership with the CEO, CMO, and executive team, build the strategic narrative for the company that will materially enhance our profile and ensure independent creators and Raptive become highly integrated into the ongoing conversations around AI, including SGE.
  • Successfully create and drive the process of producing clear and comprehensive materials around news, including key initiatives and product launches, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate, support, and counsel the executive team on all media and communications priorities and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
  • Be an exceptional storyteller who can leverage Raptive's vast proprietary data to create insight-led narratives, infographics, and storylines for advertising, business, and consumer audiences.
  • Position Raptive as the leader in developing a creator-first future on the open web and a champion for the rights of independent creators, amplifying and achieving our overall content and revenue protection goals among creators and the ad industry.
  • Manage high-profile and crisis communications issues impacting Raptive creators on the open internet and programmatic/advertising industry.
  • Oversee development of all Raptive external communications initiatives, including but not limited to press releases, thought leadership opportunities, media relations, speaking engagements, external stakeholder communication/outreach, advocacy campaigns, brand and customer-focused communications, and social media strategy.
  • Working with PR and policy agencies, prioritize media and speaking opportunities, and develop the appropriate PR tools (talking points, speeches, events/presentations, bylines, blog posts, case studies, white papers/insights, webinars, corporate social responsibility, and other supporting material as needed).
  • Develop and oversee the content strategy and execution of Raptive Newsroom, including our corporate LinkedIn presence.
  • Build the Corporate Communications & PR practice and team, including budgeting, planning, and people development/management (as applicable)
  • Develop and execute Raptive's corporate social responsibility and policy platforms, messaging, and plans.

The skills and experience you bring to the job:

  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in corporate communication and PR role required
  • Demonstrated success in the Publishing, Media, or Advertising industry is required. A deep understanding of the advertising and technology industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a media relations role with ad tech, independent creators/publishers, or technology is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills, with a proven track record for successfully crafting narratives, messaging strategies, and comprehensive communications and media relations plans that build a company's brand reputation across key stakeholders.
  • Comfort leading a collaborative executive-level review process on materials with multiple stakeholders across the company.
  • Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships with top-tier reporters and editors and successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements across print, broadcast, and digital outlets.
  • Strong pre-existing media contacts with targeted business, advertising, tech, and industry journalists are a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional team management skills and leadership/people management skills required.
  • Ability to analyze and leverage data and insights to build unique narratives and storylines.
  • Savvy, strategic thinker with experience utilizing traditional and non-traditional communications strategies and technology.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and a track record of effectively interfacing with senior management, the Board of Directors, and staff.
  • Experience in building, leading, inspiring, and developing high-performance communications teams.
  • Strategic ability to help shape where Raptive goes as a business with a collaborative, thoughtful style

The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$215,000. The range provided is Raptive’s reasonable estimate of the annualized base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, geographic location, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role is eligible for additional  incentive compensation that isn’t included in the posted range.
